Fixed Ball Valve: A Type of New Ball Valve by Hu
Ball valve came to the world in the 1950s. After several decades it has been the main valve. Therefore, this valve is quite applicable for corrosive or non-corrosive media. Compared with floating ball type, this fixed ball type has shorter torque and longer service life. When this valve is in operation, the acting force on the sphere will be completely passed to the bearing. So the valve seat will not bear too much pressure. On basis of this feature this valve is quite suitable for the high-pressure situation.
Now, let us introduce the structure of this valve. It has two types of valve body structures. The flange is connected by bolts. The stainless steel ring is its seal element. Besides, there is no PTFE bearing on the two valve handles. This fixed ball type is a full-bore valve. The diameter of the valve is equal to the inner diameter of pipeline.
Then, we will talk about features of this valve. First, the operation is very easy. The sphere is supported by the bearings. Second, the seal property is good. Third, this valve has the fire-proof structure. Fourth, this valve has the automatic pressure relieving device. Last but not least, the valve has the drainage pipeline. The fixed ball valve is quite applicable for the following media, such as water, gas, oil, natural gas and corrosive fluid. As for the working temperature, it ranges from -196 to 350 Celsius degrees. In addition, this valve has many types of drive modes, such as manual drive, worm wheel, pneumatic power, motor drive and fluid power.
With the development of technology, the fixed ball valve will have wider applications in the oil pipeline, refining equipment and nuclear industry. At the same time, this valve also will be the leading valve in other situations, such as low and medium pressure field.
